"The Scream" is a short story collection by the modern writer Lu Xun. It includes 14 short stories written by Lu Xun from 1918 to 1922. It was published by Beijing Xinchao Press in 1923 and is now included in the first volume of "The Complete Works of Lu Xun". The collection of novels truly depicts the social life from the Revolution of 1911 to the May 4th Movement. Starting from revolutionary democracy, with the purpose of enlightenment and the spirit of humanitarianism, it reveals various deep-seated social contradictions and has a profound impact on the system and parts of old China. The obsolete traditional concepts have been deeply analyzed and relatively completely denied, showing a strong sense of worry for the survival of the nation and a strong hope for social change.
